Hausa pants

so when i left the apt today-which btw is above a bar/horse betting parlor-there was the African dude in a shirt and the pants of a Hausa outfit-his was a tie dyed navy spiral pattern and also they were awesome-i'd sport them with what i brought with me-white poplin shirt-brown striped tee kimono fabric sash and heather grey tee/sleeve do-rag-ps i need a haircut!!

keep it chill and chic

FINALLY!!!!!
a cooler to carry my PBR's and Jaeger shots that i won't be mortified to rock on the train this summer.

having a "TOUS LES CALEÇONS" moment

there was a terrific underwear brand back in the 80's and while i was checking out a fabric shop on Rue Herold i remembered they had a shop around the corner-sadly it's long gone but it was hot-best men's longjohns that we rocked out on the streets

Spring, springs up in Paris

Today begins men's spring 2011 collections in Paris-got me curious about what i may want for next spring.
Nooch, on his way back from Art Basel Switzerland, tore this page from an in flight magazine knowing i would like it-he knows me very well.

i also saw a great documentary on Massai warriors while i've been here and remembered these Herb Ritts photographs;

let's see what comes out of all this..

I saw these and decided i wanted the plaids and patterns on these tees to be hand painted in an uneven manner like these boxes were taped!!

Timothy Liles kills it-AGAIN!!!

a new collection of works by Timothy Liles: The New England Collection.

'the new england collection is a modern set of furniture influenced by traditional american craft aimed
at connecting consumers with the source of their products, bringing maker and user closer together.
i firmly believe that consumers deserve deeper connections to the places and the people their products come
from and that our emotional ties, nostalgia, and pride associated with our material things are what makes them
worth having. at that, every design is produced end-to-end within new england in collaboration with true craftsmen
and craftswomen who imbue their objects with all the love and respect that honest hand-work is capable of.' Timothy Liles

check them out 5/15-20 at cite nyc and the ace hotel!!

oh Romeo

Saw these great molded felt caps in Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet and am living to have one-instead of sitting in top of your head they sit more forward at the top of your forehead to the eyebrow-pretty SWEET

Puffy Shirt

I've been working on a project that has me looking at very traditional fabrics and i was liking the idea i a light/polyfil/sleeveless shirt jacket to wear over my new favorite poplin shirts, perhaps with a light jersey lining/two button collar stand and a banded waist!!!

Break Wind with Style!!

i have a small collection of nylon snap front windbreakers that i really love but they really don't breathe-i was thinking that if they were sleeveless and i wore them with my ancient jean jacket it would be a happy solution-now i want to find windbreakers in white and pearl grey to experiment!!
